The game is divided into three stages, with the width of the bed getting smaller at each stage. When the game begins, each player has three lives. Player 1 is on the bed and player 2 jumps from a bedpost. This lauches Player 1 into the air to begin Stage 1.

Players alternate between landing on the bed and bouncing in the air. While a player is in the air, they try to catch a passing fly to earn points. If a bonus banana has appeared, the player may try to collect it for extra points, at the risk of getting whacked by the ceiling fan and losing a life. The player on the bed can move horizontally along the wave of the mattress so they can position themselves for the trajectory they need to reach the fly or banana.

If a player collides with the ceiling fan, they lose a life. If the player has remaining lives, the stage will start again. If they have no more lives, then it’s game over.
